If you got to enjoy the book or the movie trilogy, it was hard to miss them. Out of all the human soldiers who served Sauron, the Men of Harad were the most prominent ones. 

Shire vs. Harad in a Nutshell 

Looks like we have a clear analogy on our hands. If we look into the parallel between Shire and Harad, there are enormous differences. 

  • First of all, they had the war drums. On the other hand, Hobbits were fans of more uplifting tones followed by some quality ale. Who would you rather have on your team building? 
  • Haradrim were riding the elephants. Well, they rode the oliphants, but still – the drill is the same. We can see a clear contrast between friendly Halflings and the masters of combat here. If you were the Dark Lord, maybe you’d invite these guys for an interview. But since you most likely only wish to develop or sell a product or boost your eCommerce, you’d have a much better choice. You would get to reflect on picking skills and weapons or hiring a go-getter who would walk 1779 miles with bare feet. Or would steal fireworks from the great wizard. The odds are 50/50. 
  • Men of Harad needed constant monitoring, while the guys from the Shire worked remotely and independently. Did you think of that? Think of Frodo, Sam, Mary, and Pippin as juniors who were eager to reach all milestones. One missing finger and a few skipped breakfasts later – they did it! Never underestimate the power of motivation and reliability.

Skills You Can (and Should) Teach

Whether you root for in-house or outsourcing teams, there are some rules that apply to both. These squads, wherever they work from and whichever type of contract you have signed with them, can do an amazing job and help your business thrive. 

Help them understand:
